Ministry of Tribal Affairs Hosts National Conclave for Empowering Tribals

On 12th November 2025, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi, organized a National Conclave titled “Empowering Tribals through Voluntary Action” at Minto Hall, Bhopal. This significant event brought together NGOs actively working for tribal welfare across the nation, fostering collaboration and dialogue to enhance tribal empowerment efforts.

The conclave was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and presided over by the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Madhya Pradesh, alongside the District Collector. Together, they highlighted the vital joint efforts between the government and voluntary organizations in advancing the welfare of tribal communities throughout India.

Prominent attendees included Balakrishnan from Amritapuri and Mohanji from Bhopal, who contributed insights on grassroots tribal welfare initiatives. The Ministry also acknowledged government support extended to Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, Kalpetta Wayanad, and Amrita Bhavan Paripally, Kollam—projects aided to establish a ten-bedded hospital and a tribal hostel for ST boys and girls respectively.

Swami Anuragananda of Ramakrishna Mission, Meghalaya, presided over the meeting of NGOs focused on tribal education, while the healthcare session was led by Advocate Suresh from Swami Vivekananda Mission Hospital, Muttil, Wayanad. During the proceedings, Balakrishnan highlighted the global activities of Mata Amritanandamayi Math and detailed the contributions of Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital Kalpetta, a 20-bed facility serving the Wayanad district. The hospital provides care for over 200 outpatients daily and conducts more than 90 medical camps annually in remote tribal forest hamlets, underscoring its crucial role in tribal health outreach.

The National Conclave reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with NGOs and harnessing voluntary actions to uplift tribal communities across India.
