From Classroom to Forest Clinics: Young Graduate Brings Compassion to Wayanad’s Tribal Heart

Inspired by Amma’s lifelong dedication to social service, Amrita, a B.PA (Physician Associate) graduate from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, has taken up service at Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, Wayanad. Originally from Pandalam in Pathanamthitta district, Amrita’s journey has now brought her to the heart of tribal healthcare.

Every day, nearly 200 tribal patients visit the Amrita Kripa Hospital, with doctors balancing busy clinics and weekend medical camps deep in the forests of Wayanad. For Amrita, this is both a new challenge and a profound learning experience, observing lives shaped by nature and easing doctors’ workloads through hands-on support.

“Her energy and empathy are already making a difference,” said hospital staff. Amrita’s story reflects a new generation’s call to serve the underprivileged and underserved, bringing expert healthcare where it’s needed most.
