In an effort to deliver basic healthcare services to historically underprivileged indigenous communities, a specialized medical camp was conducted at the Mannath tribal colony in Meenangadi village, near Sulthan Bathery, on August 12.

​The initiative brought essential clinical consultations, preventive health screenings, and free medication directly to the doorsteps of the tribal hamlet, addressing significant logistical and geographic barriers that typically hinder local healthcare access.

​The medical team was led by Dr. Keerthana, from Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, Kalpetta, Wayanad, who conducted primary health assessments, screened residents for chronic non-communicable diseases, and provided pediatric and general clinical care. She was supported by staff nurse Nineetha, who managed vital sign triage, patient intake, and basic clinical procedures, and pharmacist Sudha, who oversaw the dispensary and briefed patients on prescription instructions.

Tribal settlements like Mannath often face persistent challenges in accessing routine medical care due to remote location constraints and economic hardships. Mobile medical camps of this nature serve as a crucial bridge, ensuring early detection of treatable conditions and fostering trust between public health institutions and native communities.

Local residents expressed appreciation for the outreach, emphasizing the necessity for regular clinical visits in the region.
