Personal Hygiene Campaign

As part of its ongoing personal hygiene awareness campaign, Amrita Tribal Center distributed sanitary pads to tribal women patients and their bystanders at the Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital (AKCH) at Kalpetta in Wayanad on December 14, 2025. This initiative addresses a critical need among tribal communities, where many women cannot afford essential hygiene products and often compromise on their health as a result.

The distribution event underscored the direct link between personal hygiene and overall well-being, particularly for tribal women facing economic challenges. By providing these vital supplies, Amrita Tribal Center empowers women to maintain dignity and health during menstruation, reducing risks of infections and related complications.

Amrita Tribal Center commits to this cause year-round, distributing an average of 300 sanitary pads monthly to tribal folk across Wayanad. These efforts form part of a broader campaign aimed at fostering sustainable hygiene practices and improving health outcomes in remote areas.

“We are dedicated to bridging gaps in basic healthcare access for our tribal sisters,” said Mr.P.G.Balakrishnan, Coordinator, Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital. “Simple interventions like this can transform lives, and we invite community partners to join us in scaling these initiatives.”
