Amrita Initiative Empowers Wayanad Tribal Youth with Jobs in Kochi Amid Forest Deprivation

In a compassionate move to uplift marginalized tribal communities in Kerala, Amrita continues to condicr employment placement drives for young men and women from underdeveloped forest colonies in Wayanad. These youth, many of whom have studied up to the tenth grade, often face a lack of opportunities that leave them vulnerable to unemployment and social challenges.

As part of Amrita’s ongoing social welfare mission, the programme offers sustainable employment in Kochi, helping participants build stable and purposeful lives while reducing issues such as alcohol dependency and social alienation within their communities.

The interviews for the initiative were conducted by Mrs. Ramani Sankar of Amrita Swanthanam, Kalpetta — a unit of Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, which provides free counselling and delivers vital social welfare services to tribal families across the region.

This continued effort reinforces Amrita’s enduring commitment to transforming lives through compassion, empowerment, and opportunity.
