MP Shri Bishnu Pada Ray Inaugurates In-Patient Department at Amrita Health Centre Port Blair

Amrita Health Centre in Shadipur, Port Blair, marked a milestone in its decade-long mission to serve the poor inhabitants, including tribal communities, of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The grand opening of its new In-Patient Department (IPD) took place on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 12:15 PM, under the divine blessings of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma).

The inauguration was graciously led by the Honorable Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, signifying a major advancement in bolstering healthcare infrastructure for the region. Azizur Rahman, Councillor and Chairperson and Mariyam Beevi, Social Worker graced the event. This expansion enhances the centre’s capacity to deliver comprehensive medical care to the local populations, reflecting Amma’s unwavering commitment to selfless service.
