Yoga Training and Awareness Camp for CISF Jawans and Local Community Members
On June 21st, in preparation for International Yoga Day as declared by the United Nations, Dr. Meera (BAMS, MD) and her team led a comprehensive yoga training session for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel stationed at the Kayamkulam unit on June 19th. The event highlighted the significance of yoga in daily life and its substantial contributions to preventive healthcare.
Participants received detailed explanations on how regular yoga practice supports overall well-being and helps reduce dependency on medication and hospital visits. Practical yoga sessions were highly appreciated by all attendees, including CISF officials from the Kayamkulam camp and a group of senior citizens from Nagyarkukangara.
The training underscored that yoga should not be limited to International Yoga Day but should become an integral part of daily routine. This initiative also served to promote the Indian System of Medicine and traditional practices such as Surya Namaskar and Ganapati Etham, reinforcing their cultural importance and global recognition. The program successfully emphasized the enduring value of yoga as both a health practice and a cherished tradition.
