Valedictory Session – Computer Course

The Amrita Tribal Center, Attappady, Palakkad, conducted a three-month computer training program for selected tribal girls from the Agali, Pudur, and Sholayur Panchayats. The training focused on imparting essential computer skills and developing proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with an emphasis on document creation and formatting.

The program commenced on April 2nd and concluded on July 4th, with a formal closing session held on the final day. A total of twelve tribal girls completed the training, equipping them with valuable skills that will enhance their employment prospects, particularly in cooperative institutions and retail establishments where the use of electronic cash registers and computer billing is required.

Additionally, several of the participants have also completed a health worker (pre-nursing) course and are currently employed at Amrita Ayurveda Hospital, Vallikavu, and Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Hospital, Attappady. This integrated approach to skill development is expected to significantly improve the socio-economic opportunities available to tribal women in the region.
