Diversity Wins at District Sports Festival
At Amrita School, Paripally, students from across India come together, each bringing their unique languages and traditional attire. These children, residing at the tribal hostel managed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, create a vibrant tapestry of cultures. Despite their varied backgrounds, they unite on the sports field, setting aside all differences and competing in harmony and enthusiasm. Students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bengal, and many other regions have joined the school and hostel, forging strong bonds of friendship and camaraderie. The welcoming environment encourages seamless integration and mutual respect among the children. Their exceptional performances at this year’s district school sports meet held at Kottarakara Higher Secondary School grounds, captured everyone’s attention, with several securing medals and bringing pride to both the hostel and the school. Notably, Komok Ruket from Arunachal Pradesh clinched the gold medal in the 100 meters, while Sithok finished impressively in fourth place in Sub Junior Discus throw. Komok Ruket and Wangpang Longsi, all from Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. Nail Sapong competed in the sub-junior boys Shot Put.

Today, 33 children from various states live together in this hostel, sharing their cultures, traditions, and celebrations. This coming together of diverse backgrounds stands as a testament to the spirit of unity in diversity, making every moment on campus truly Pan-Indian.
