Kalpetta, Wayanad – September 18, 2025: In commemoration of the 72nd birthday of Her Holiness Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, patron of Amrita Institutions, the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center (AIMS), Kochi, organized a three-day free dental camp at Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, Kinatty, Kalpetta, Wayanad, from September 16 to 18. The camp was specially dedicated to serving the tribal communities of Wayanad district.

The initiative, held under Amrita Smitam 2025, provided a combination of special dental outpatient consultations, minor surgeries, and advanced prosthodontic care. The highlight of the event came on the third day, September 18, when dentures (artificial dental sets) prepared for 60 patients were distributed, offering renewed confidence and improved quality of life to many underserved individuals.

The prosthodontics division of AIMS, led by Dr. Manju, Head of Prosthodontics, and Dr. Chandrasekhar, Head of Community Dentistry, took charge of the program, supported by Dr. Venkitachalam and Chief Dental Technician Vinod. The team worked tirelessly in fabricating dentures tailored to the needs of patients over the three days of the camp.

The formal distribution function was inaugurated by Kalpetta Municipal Chairman, Issac, in the esteemed presence of Swami Vedamritanandapuri of Meppady Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Wayanad. In their remarks, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of extending specialized healthcare services to marginalized tribal populations and lauded the selfless effort of the AIMS medical team.

Doctors Sanjeev Vasudevan MD, Dr. Ageesh MD, Dr. Ajitha Sanjeev, and the dedicated staff of Kalpetta Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital provided active support throughout the camp, ensuring seamless patient coordination and care delivery.
