Session on Schemes for Tribal Community
Date: 30th June 2025
Venue: Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital, Kainatty, Kalpetta, Wayanad
A staff meeting was convened at Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital on 30th June 2025. Dr. Ageesh, MBBS, MD, Program Officer for the Dharthi Aaba Abhiyan & Program Officer of PM Janman, addressed the assembly and urged all staff members to familiarise themselves with existing Tribal welfare schemes. He emphasised the importance of educating beneficiaries on how to access programs and entitlements initiated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and associated departments.
The following key actions were discussed:
- Opening Bank Accounts Linked with Aadhaar
All financial benefits and grants will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked savings accounts, thus reducing the risk of exploitation by intermediaries. Staff are encouraged to assist and guide tribal community members in opening bank accounts and linking them with their Aadhaar identification. - Application for Welfare Schemes
Staff should provide support to eligible individuals in applying for various government schemes, including the Kissam pension, student stipends, widow pensions, and senior citizen pensions, through Local Self-Government Institutions, Tribal Development Offices (TDO), and the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP). - Verification of Community and Income Certificates
Individuals should be assisted in procuring and verifying their community and income certificates from relevant revenue authorities in order to ensure timely and accurate access to welfare benefits.
Staff members pledged to actively disseminate information regarding these schemes and support tribal communities in navigating the application and benefit disbursal processes.
