A Kaara tribesman died in the floods in Attappady area in August 2019.

Photo shows the house of a tribal family damaged by the heavy rains located in Choondakulam tribal hamlet of Attappady. The aged mother of the man can be seen in the photo. His wife Maari was presented with a cheque of Rs One Lakh from M.A. Math on 27th Sept 2019. Three daughters and one son live in adjoining huts which is currently under construction.
